IQphoto did a fantastic job with our San Francisco wedding. Alex was accommodating, gave great posing suggestions and provided us with photos that were original to match our personalities. He truly captured the moment and engaged us to be creative as a couple to get images that were unique. The service was outstanding, timing to get photos back very quick and professionalism was top line! Thank you for the memories that will last a lifetime....

In short Josef and Alex are the best of the best, and if your wedding date is a year out or less you better book them fast, no joke! Instead of jotting down a bunch of adjectives to describe how amazing IQ Photo is, let me talk you through how and why we really choose them.

I am one who believes your work should speak for itself. And if you\'re like me sometimes you meet people who have such personable qualities that once you know you like them you feel like you can\'t be mean and say no. With that said I went into finding our perfect photographer with the mind set that their work MUST speak for itself and I wasn\'t going to make any serious inquiries unless I knew I would be willing to give a down payment. Lets just say that was the best decision I made because literally 48 hours after reserving our date, a couple who had previously met with them in person, 3 weeks prior to our booking, decided to book the same date and was devastated to learn it was already booked.

Having never met Josef or Alex, I came across their amazing work while researching wedding photography websites. Although many websites were great; the backgrounds were beautiful, post processing was amazing, and more importantly the couples did look to be happily in love, but Josef and Alex\'s work stood out from the rest. My fiance was the one who brought it to my attention that the choice was obvious. Like most future brides, I sat through probably close to 100 wedding photo slideshows before picking my top 10 to show him. After reviewing them with him I asked what he thought, his response was \"its very obvious which one to choose, every time you watched the slideshows from IQ Photo you would cry or laugh the others you didn\'t.\" He was right, I realized the one thing you could only hope for when people see your engagement photos is that they can feel the emotions behind the photos just like I was with Josef\'s work. Josef\'s work has that little extra something that just makes the photos better. Just like the extra attention to detail you find when looking at two similar dresses but one is designer and one isn\'t. The designer one just looks and feels better like its tailored just for you. The extra details just make a world of difference. Maybe for your everyday wear the knock off is ok but I\'m sure we\'d all agree that there are just some occasions you prefer to have that one designer dress for that one special night at whatever cost. When it comes to picking your photographer for your special day its worth paying the bucks knowing you\'re gong to get that extra special something that is going to make your photos stand out from the rest.

30 mins later after calling Josef and learning that his personality mirrored his incredible work, I was more than happy to end my day knowing I could without regret check off the \"Find a Photographer\" from my wedding to-do list!

3 Months later as expected our engagement photos bring happy tears, lots of laughter and joy to all our friends and family and most importantly to us. Many thanks to Josef and Alex for capturing the true essence of who we are as individuals and as a couple through our photos. They are memories we can now reminisce about for year and years to come. We can\'t wait for the big day.

We used Joseph of IQ photo for our wedding this year in Napa and we couldn\'t be happier with our decision. We were extremely nervous picking vendors as this was a destination wedding so we didn\'t have any experience with anyone in the area. I found IQ photo through Yelp and once I looked at Joseph\'s blog I was hooked. We met with Joseph once prior to our wedding and he seemed to immediately \"get us\" and what we wanted with the photos. The rest of the correspondence was through email until the day of the wedding. He and his assitant were very professional, but fun. During the wedding they blended in to the party and I really didn\'t even notice they were there, which is a sign of a good photographer. The pictures and albums came out so beautiful and the compliments we\'ve received on them have been too many to count. All the compliments we got after the wedding were about our flowers and photography! Go to Joseph, you won\'t regret it.

Joseph at IQphoto is truly amazing. He was exceptional in every way.

We had an outdoor wedding planned in the woods of Big Sur. Much to everyone\'s surprise, rain arrived. We were getting married that day no matter what, and while most photogs would have balked at getting their fancy equipment a little bit wet Joseph saw it as simply making things \"romantic.\" He jumped right in, sans umbrella, and gave us some of the most gorgeous wedding photos we\'ve ever seen. Thankfully the rain subsided after the ceremony so we were able to spend some time taking artistic shots within the surrounding woods and beaches. I think that is where Joseph truly shines, when he has the ability to execute his artistic vision. He has a real vision for many of the shots he takes, so my recommendation is to just let him do his thing and follow his instructions.

Joseph had a great attitude and professional demeanor, and several people at the wedding even remarked how pleasant he was.

He really is exceptional, very fairly priced especially given the quality of his work, and is a true artist that you will be lucky to have if you can get him.

We found Joseph through various web searches, saw some of his work and thought it was great. But when Joseph returned our wedding photographs, we were floored.
I think many newlywed couples will agree that planning a wedding can be chaotic, but the day itself is a hectic, chaotic, surreal blur. What we received from Joseph was one of the best wedding presents we could have asked for. Somehow, inconspicuously, he managed to capture the essence of the day. When we sat down to watch the slideshow, we had the opportunity to relive those moment which we had missed or forgotten or were too caught up to enjoy. He has given us back those precious moments which we will enjoy over a lifetime.
As my husband and I spoke about the photos, we noted that not once were we aware of the photos being taken. Joseph never asked us to pose (except for the portraits), and thats what made the photo special. They were entirely candid shots.
I must also say that I was completely against the \"Engagement Session\", where you do the cheesy shots frolicking on the beach. Joseph is a great guy, patient and easy going and he managed to make us both feel comfortable in front of the camera and as a result, we got some amazing photos out of it.
He\'s got a great eye, he sees things we wouldn\'t out of a normal setting and creates some magical shots. We are planning on putting some of it up as art in our home.

I am writing about an amazing photographer and an incredible person- IQphoto\'s Joseph Kohn! I have not written many (any) reviews before, but am doing so now because, if you\'re planning a wedding, you need to know about this individual! The clear difference between Joseph Kohn and the other guys, is that he is, first and foremost, a tremendously gifted artist. He\'s not some tech who churns out hundreds of generic shots with interchangeable smiling faces. He shapes your setting and your moment, wherever that may be, into gorgeous art. The results show over and over, in unique treasures your family will cherish forever.

Over three years ago, Joseph created astonishing art, in this way, from our wedding. The resulting pictures have made me smile every day since. Then several weeks ago, we suffered a catastrophe, and both our original and backup digital copies of our ceremony were destroyed. We were absolutely devastated. I contacted Joseph in an absolute panic, hoping for the one in a million odds he would have our old work, and willing to pay absolutely ANYTHING to get my pictures. Despite a packed shooting schedule, he had them to me practically overnight, for NO CHARGE, with his best wishes.

The last time I was that happy was- my wedding! Thank you Joseph, forever.

WOW!!!!! What great photographers!!! My fiance and I had the luxury of being able to work with Joseph for our engagement photos, and Alex and Mark for our wedding.

We were so happy to go with professionals. Initially we went with another studio in the Financial District (who will go unmentioned) and they were AWFUL!!! So we sought out for someone to do our engagement photos and we were SO HAPPY when we saw Joseph\'s pictures. He was easy to talk to and made us feel comfortable because he didn\'t make us do the corny poses (unlike the other photography studio). Joseph has such an eye for the natural elements and made these pictures amazing.

For our wedding,we had Alex and Mark. Mark worked with the guys for the most part and the pictures were so funny and were exactly what we were looking for because we didn\'t want all of the traditional poses. Alex worked with the girls and was funny. They both made everyone feel comfortable.

And I just have to say that what was also great about them was that we didn\'t even notice that they were there. While that may sound strange, I have been to weddings where I was unable to see anything because the photographers were always in the way of the audience. My guests were able to get pictures and also thought that Alex and Mark were funny. They were always willing to take pictures of what we had asked. For example we asked to have pictures taken separately with all of our guests. Alex made a lot of our guests laugh and they were fun to work with.

I would definitely recommend IQ Photography to anyone who is looking for great photography!! They range from artistic, natural, traditional, and classy with all of the proofs. We are so grateful that we found them. Thanks for the memories.

After extensive research, we chose IQphoto for our wedding photography. We were very lucky to have Joseph\'s experience as wedding photographer for the ceremony in SF City Hall. He was also kind to volunteer to coordinate the more or less flash mob of attendees. After that, we lost track of him as he blended into the background to capture candids.

Then he popped out again to organize family photos before shifting to capture the two of us all around the lovely building. He gave us directions and then chose to let us go with it. We ended up with striking images that we\'ll treasure forever.

We wanted pictures with the Golden Gate in the background and then things got real in a hurry. Those 40 plus blocks between SF City Hall and Crissy Field flew by GTA style as we scrambled across town. Joseph snuck in pictures of us with Golden Gate and Alcatraz in the background. He also wisely kept an eye on the water to warn us in case it got too close.

Finally, he closed the show with a panorama shot of us with the yacht club in the background with his iPhone. He sent us the pic right away too. We\'re so glad to have Joseph as our wedding photographer. We absolutely positively recommend IQphoto for wedding photography!

Hands down if there is one thing you can choose to invest in for your wedding, get Joseph and Alex at IQ Photo. Alex and a colleague ended up shooting our Indian wedding at the De Young Museum. While most of the Yelp reviews focus on Joseph (who is funny and really great to work with), we have to give props to Alex who is equally fantastic. We could rave all day about how artistic, professional, prompt, easy to work with, not-in-your-face-during-your-wedding, Alex is...but their work was summarized best by one of our guests:

What? I can\'t give them 10 stars?! I recently got married and found IQ Photos website by chance while researching weddings at City Hall, SF. You will have your wedding pictures for the rest of your lift and they will serve as a reminder of one of the most monumental moments of your life. Your family, friends, co workers, future children, and grandchildren will be looking at them and, through the pictures, will and should be able to feel almost like they shared in that special memory with you.Needless to say, I was looking for someone good.

Joseph was my photographer and by looking at his website, it is obvious that he has a lot experience behind the camera. I\'m not going to spend a lot of time commenting on the quality and the artistry because it speaks for itself. I will comment on the things you don\'t see and don\'t know off-hand.

I was pleasantly surprised that he has a wonderful personality as well. We were friendly and joking by the time the first set of pics were taken and continued to have a great time throughout the day. He knows how to get the best shots, best locations, best lighting, but he directs you in a way that doesn\'t make you feel awkward of self-conscious. Let\'s face it, not all of us have modeling skills. My wedding had a 1940s old Hollywood feel and Joseph was able to capture that style perfectly! You definitely get the feeling without it looking too theatrical. I got my wedding pics back about 8 days after my wedding (which was 2 weeks sooner than I expected them) and lets just say I am hard-pressed to find one I don\'t like. I want 16x20s of every one of them and I\'m going to wallpaper the entire house with them. I actually cried when I saw some of them. He has a great way of capturing the love in people\'s eyes.

IQ photo was very professional and easy to work with (either by phone or online). Joseph showed up on time. He stayed the entire time we paid for. It was one of the few vendors I worked with who I didn\'t have to worry about or chase down. I highly recommend them.

Joseph is absolutely fabulous! 5 stars are not enough to rate his photography! When we got engaged, we both knew that our photographer would be the most important part of our wedding besides the location. When we saw his website we knew we wanted to meet Joseph. And when we did and looked through his photo albums, we found the one! We planned the wedding from Florida and could not do an engagement session, but Joseph offered to come to the rehearsal dinner instead. Oh my, that was so much fun! He had us do the funniest poses and took pictures of us, just like we are! On the day of the wedding, he had a fantastic assistant, Alex, and they both were just so amazing. We had so much fun taking photos in wineries, walking through the streets of St. Helena and during our reception and dinner. We cannot say enough about how fabulous the photos are and how happy we are with everything Joseph has done for us. Our friends and family keep saying that they had the time of their lives during our wedding and that the photos are straight from a magazine. Thank you Joseph for creating memories of a lifetime!

This is the first review I\'ve ever left on Yelp so hopefully that says something in and of itself. I\'ve been meaning to leave a post about IQphoto wedding photography ever since my wedding back in May but am only now finding the time. Although my wedding was months ago, I clearly remember how lovely it was to work with Joseph. Despite the fact that we had never met in person and only communicated through e-mail, any worries or concerns about having picked the perfect wedding photographer instantly melted away as soon as I shook his hand.

Joseph found ME out of all the people at City Hall (they were filming a movie there and at least one other wedding was going on in addition to the regular influx of people that roam about City Hall) and was very professional and no nonsense from the start. He did not waste any time and was wonderful with direction so you really feel like you are getting your money\'s worth. The City Hall wedding package IQphoto offered was definitely the best I found on the internet.

Deciding to work with Joseph on my wedding day was one of the best decisions I had made during my wedding planning. He knew his way around City Hall as well as the city. Even if you don\'t like getting your picture taken, Joseph removes any stress you might have so that it just feels natural. He was so efficient at taking pictures of me and my husband as newlyweds and not letting us fall into the trap of talking to everyone around us immediately after the ceremony. It wasn\'t being rude in any way but it was nice to know that he kept in mind that time is money and he only wanted to get us as many pictures he possibly could in the timeframe that we hired him for. Joseph was just as easy and friendly to work with after the wedding as he was before and during. My only regret is not hiring him as a full package to take pictures at my reception but I am more than extremely satisfied with the photos and customer service IQphoto Wedding Photography provided me!!

If you are having difficulty narrowing down your choices between IQphoto and a couple other vendors for wedding photography, definitely go with IQphoto. You won\'t regret it.

We had a fantastic experience with IQphoto for our San Francisco city hall wedding. Joseph was funny and he knew exactly where to go for great shots around San Francisco and the city hall. We received many compliments on our photos from our families and friends. I highly recommend them!

I wish I could rate IQ Photo with more than 5 star because Joseph is a really amazing wedding photographer. I was looking for a great wedding photographer and checked out a lot of websites. Wedding photography was the most important part of our wedding because pictures captured the memories of our special day. When I saw Joseph\'s pictures on his website they were exceptionally beautiful. Every picture was a piece of art!
Joseph is very easy to work with and very dependable. He has a unique ability to make people feel comfortable and knows how to catch the moment of the real feelings and emotions in the picture. My husband and I decided to make our wedding day about us instead of a big wedding that would potentially put us into debt. We chose San Francisco City Hall. Living in Ohio made me think that any type of \"planning\" would be stressful but I was pleasantly surprised. When you\'re getting married out-of-state with only a 1-1/2 months notice, it is important that you pick the right photographer to allow you to share the experience with everyone who couldn\'t be there. After reviewing the IQ Photo website, there was no doubt in my mind that this is who we needed to photograph our wedding. And they sure did deliver!

The experience alone was fun, stress-free, and easy to do! Alex from IQ Photo made the process an entertaining one! He made us laugh and kept us from taking the process too serious! He kept it light and made it easy for us to feel comfortable and act natural! (And trust me; this is a tough duty for my husband who doesn\'t particularly love having pictures taken!)

The photographs of our wedding were unbelievably gorgeous! From IQ Photo\'s website and the amazing reviews, we knew that the pictures would be creative and artistic, but ours were better than we had expected! We had a total of about 430 pictures and although we\'ve had the pictures for almost a month, we still cannot narrow the choices down even to our favorite 200! I don\'t know how we\'ll ever decide what to frame!

I also want to add that IQ Photo had our pictures ready in just a few days! They send you a link which you can pass along to allow friends & family to view and they also provide you with the opportunity to download the pictures for yourself. This is crucial when it comes to family gifts and photo albums! Joseph from IQ Photo also recommended to me an officiant who we ended up using - Mark Hespeth at \"A Perfect Wedding Ceremony\". Mark was another wonderful addition to our perfect day!

Honestly IQ Photo made our wedding exactly what we wanted! Alex truly made the experience too! He was funny and sweet and really took care of business! We did our search for a wedding photographer and found that IQ Photo had wonderful style and a great package deal for San Francisco City Hall. Our wedding was planned far in advance, but a few months out we realized we couldn\'t hold our ceremony at SF City Hall. Still, we used the City Hall package, with pre-ceremony photos there, and our ceremony up at Palace of Fine Arts. Joseph did an amazing job. During moments when he wasn\'t photographing us, he was off capturing our guests and the setting. I was unaware of his presence during the ceremony, but he must have been running laps because he was EVERYWHERE at once! Our photos are simply amazing, and everyone looks great. We ended up with about 400 high-resolution images and are very happy with them. Our friends and family are impressed, as well. I highly recommend IQ Photo for wedding photography.

Our wedding was planned in a relatively short period of time. Despite our general incompetence about what we were doing, everything was coming together very nicely. When it came time to select a wedding photographer, we knew we didn\'t want the typical fuzzy-themed mall photos. But, we also didn\'t have any idea where to get a top photographer. So I just started calling wedding photographers that were highly rated on Yelp. Lucky enough, after just a couple of calls, I talked to Joseph from IQPhoto. Even luckier...he happened to have a last minute cancellation for the very weekend of our wedding. Turns out, we didn\'t realize just how lucky we were. Joseph was almost ecstatic...because he would be able to return the deposit for the customer that needed to cancel (which was a good sign that he cared about his customers) and he seemed genuinely thrilled to be a part of our wedding. We had a brief meeting where we discussed the wedding photography packages and the photo ideas that we liked. From that point on, Joseph took care of everything. Of course, much of the wedding was a blur but Joseph and his team managed to be everywhere and no where at the same time. And the pictures were proof. They captured everything...the tone of the evening, the emotion, the joy, of the events as well as the expressions of each individual. And each photo has that feel that it captures everything--activity, feelings, mood--of a moment in time. We had both video and IQPhotos taken at our wedding...and the photos capture, by far, the best memories and overall feeling of everything that happened. We couldn\'t have been happier with the choice we made...and that luck we had that IQPhoto was available. If you have thoughts of a wedding anytime in your future, reserve IQPhoto now. It will be worth it.

Both my husband and I strongly recommend Joseph as wedding photographer to everybody, not only because of the great quality of the photos he shoot for us but also his professionalism, his creativity and his gorgeous sense of arts. Back in 2009 Joseph took our San Francisco City Hall elopement photographs. He captured many meaningful moments. Joseph is very personable and was able to work with us regardless of my shyness.

This recommendation is long over due, but we can\'t wait to share our wonderful experience with fellow yelpers. We got married in February 2011, after only one month preparation. We knew we were getting married in this spring, but just wasn\'t able to finalize the wedding day until January. Since our parents were too far to join us, we decided to have a small wedding ceremony at SF City Hall, a gorgeous European style building.

The first and the most important task for us was to find the best photographer. We were very lucky that we found Joseph on Yelp, and his overwhelming reviews helped us to make this easy decision. I emailed him, and got a quick response that he will be available on our wedding day, but at a different time slot vs. our original plan. He suggested a few other things that made our adjusted plan possible. On our wedding day, Joseph quickly found out our style and what suit us. He did an outstanding job to take our portraits! He was very familiar with the City Hall, knew exactly where to take the best pictures. It was very crowded in the building that day, with several other couples getting married around the same time and also tourists staying (it was a raining day). Joseph skilled to take pictures that appeared there were just us. Our friends were wondering if the building was empty that day :).

What made Joseph the prefect photographer for us was not just his excellent skills -- he was just a great person to work with. Originally we wanted to take some outdoor pictures around the city after our ceremony. But due to the raining day, it became impossible. Joseph understood our feeling and offered a follow up session instead, which turned out to be great. We are so grateful that we found him at Yelp and made our best wedding planning decision. We would highly recommend him, if capturing the most memorable moment in your life is important to you.

We had our wedding at City Hall on 12/31/10 and I couldn\'t believe my luck that IQphoto was available to shoot our ceremony. They were responsive from beginning to end and answered all my questions thoroughly. Our photos came out beautiful. Months later when my house was burglarized and my laptop was stolen my biggest fear was realized.... All my wedding pictures were stolen as well. I contacted Masha and explained the situation and the file was resent to me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! I will definitely back up my photos next time.

Amazing photography quality!! We worked with Alex (and his wife), and his professionalism, personality, and photographic ability were excellent. Both, my fiancee and I, LOVED our engagement photos and we highly recommend IQ Photo to everyone who needs engagement/wedding related photography.

Outstanding photography, full of art and poetry. But that\'s just the beginning. As two good rookies, my fiancee and I were clueless as to how to proceed with a City Hall wedding. Joseph picked up the phone every single time, proposing ideas, contacts, locations and vendors for each of our questions.

After 25 years of marriage, we thought we\'d be in the minority and decide to STAY married! My wife and I decided to renew our vows with close friends and family.

We got married at the City Hall last month and now all we have left are the beautiful photos and video by the brothers Alex and Joseph (IQ Videography and IQ Photo). We had a great time with them. They were very easy to work with. My husband and I were comfortable posing with them. Our families have nothing but praises for them too. They directed us well. Friends and family continue to rave about our photos and videos because they truly captured the wedding beautifully. We had an intimate ceremony of 20 ppl, immediate family only and yet by showing our photos and videos to our friends back in the Philippines, it was like they were able to experience the moment with us too! A lot of friends have told me that they cried while watching the videos. Oh, and we are from Ohio so we only communicated with them thru email and we had NO issues whatsoever. We planned to meet at a certain time and there they were! :) They listened to all our requests and I just can\'t imagine anyone else capturing our wedding day that way.

Alex took a great shots of our small, intimate wedding in Las Vegas. Alex is a very gifted photographer. His work overcome all my expectations. Great shots, super quality, great personality, and a very hard working guy.
Let me tell you the story how Joseph and Alex rescued our wedding photography. As I sad earlier, we were planning to have small but very elegant wedding. Everything was ready to go, paid for and signed for... Suddenly, I\'ve received an e-mail (not even a phone call) from our previous photographer, stating that he can not make it. That was a bad news. We only had few days left before the wedding. That\'s when Joseph and Alexey came for a rescue. Joseph spent about 2 hours on the phone with us answering all our questions, coordinating date and time with his team. His associate photographer and teammate Alexey was more than happy to help us. He showed a great desire to work with us and was excited about Vegas. A few moments later we were booking a flight and hotel room for him. What a quick response.
By the way, they have never missed a phone call from me, every text message and e-mail was replied momentarily. That was a perfect customer service.
Now get this one: we are from San Diego, wedding was in Las Vegas, photographer from San Francisco and we all could speak Russian. Now tell me, isn\'t it amazing. :)

My husband and I are a little \"outside the box\" ourselves so we really appreciated iqphoto\'s unique sense of style. It is SO refreshing to see a photographer that does something other than the traditional wedding portrait and ring shot. I am so proud of our wedding pictures and have even had people tell me that they are the most beautiful wedding photos they have ever seen.

We did a 2 hour session with Joseph and his crew and ended up with 503 beautiful pictures. It took me hours to narrow it down to just 2 pictures for our wedding announcements!

It didn\'t take me long to research for wedding photography. I knew I had to have Joseph take my wedding pictures at the instant I saw his works on the website. Joseph is incredibly talented and he took so many gorgeous pictures of me and my husband who both happen to be very camera shy. I don\'t even know where to start - We just love IQphoto! We had Alex as our wedding photographer, and he was just amazing! I can\'t believe how wonderful the photos turned out! Both my husband and I are incredibly awkward to take photos of, but all of the photos look magazine ready. We have received so much positive feedback from our friends and family already. Okay, so other that the amazing photos, there are a lot of other reasons to love IQ photo. We were lucky to have Joseph take pictures of our wedding ceremony at the City Hall. He is such a professional when it comes to photography. He replied and answered all our questions in the emails when we were looking for photographers. He also guided us through some formalities that we needed to complete at the City Hall. He knows what angles will capture the best mood and beauty of City Hall. His passion for photography came out by the way he directed us to different areas and poses within City Hall. Later on he did the same by taking us to a great spot in the city and captured beautiful pictures. Extremely courteous and helpful. When my fiance and I decided to elope at San Francisco City Hall, I knew that I wanted to have a top notch photgrapher to capture the special day. However, after looking at website after website, I couldn\'t find a portfolio that spoke to me...until I found IQphoto. Just go to the website and you\'ll see what I mean!

I called Joseph (I think it was a Thursday) and asked if he was available on the upcoming Monday (elopement day). He explained that it was his father\'s birthday on that day but that he would alter his schedule so that he could shoot our wedding. I was late getting to City Hall but he was a real gentleman about it. When i finally got there, he went right to work and it was obvious he was a real pro. My husband and I got married on October 18, 2010 at the San Francisco City Hall. I am so thankful that the weather on our wedding day was great. But I am even more thankful that I found Joseph on Yelp.

I love taking pictures because I believe pictures can keep all precious memories alive =) I am from Hong Kong and I don\'t know any good photographers here. Many friends of mine have got married recently in HK and I loved all their wedding pics taken in HK. Before I met Joseph, I thought I couldn\'t find any photographers in the US who could be as good as those in HK. BUT I was totally wrong. AND I am so happy that Joseph helped my husband and me on our wedding day!!!

In the following, I am going to tell how professional Joseph is:

Before our wedding: Joseph responded quick. Joseph and I communicated via emails and phone calls. He responded to my emails and calls quickly. And I can tell he is a good father too: I called him at about 8pm one night but he whispered softly on the phone and told me it was the time for his baby boy to go to bed. So I ended the call and he called me back later =)

On our wedding day: Joseph was professional. Once my husband and I arrived at the City Hall, he started to suggest where we should have our ceremony and led us there. I didn\'t know how to pin the boutonniere on my husband\'s lapel. Joseph was so kind to help me pin it on his lapel. What a silly bride-to-be I was! I am sure Joseph is a romantic person and with good sense of humour. After the ceremony, Joseph led us to different places in the City Hall and the city. He was so kind to let us carpool with him. During the carpool journey, Joseph was so friendly to us. We enjoyed the conversations with him.

After our wedding: Joseph was efficient. After a couple of days, I got an email from him and I was told my pictures were ready to be downloaded. I viewed all the pictures. All the pictures were great. And all my friends in the US and HK were all impressed by his pictures. They all said the City Hall looks so splendid and spectacular. And they like all the breathtaking panoramic pictures. Though we didn\'t have a video service on our day, I think all the pictures taken by Joseph can be converted into a video.

Joseph was like a magician who captured all the precious moments on our big day. My husband and I are very happy that we found Joseph and we can reminisce about all the details of our wedding whenever we want now.

I have not been surprised when Joseph won the first place in the \"Best Wedding Photographer\" two months ago. My wife and I have been very happy to have Joseph as our wedding photographer, and after two months since our wedding day, we can say that Joseph\'s photos are worth every penny we have spent.

My fiance and I got married at City Hall in SF on 7/2/10. I generally don\'t like pictures of myself....except, as it turns out, when Josef is the photographer. He really did an unbelievable job. We really couldn\'t have hoped for better photos. I\'ve never seen better wedding photos in fact. He was also great to work with, and made taking our pictures a lot of fun (again, this is coming from someone who doesn\'t love having his picture taken).

The City Hall package was perfect for us. We had a ton of photos since Josef knows exactly where to photograph. I was surprised by the number and variety of pictures we ended up with. Also, he is doing all sorts of cool stuff from behind the lens so that you get really need composition and perspectives. We had fun candid shots as well as artistic images. It was a great combination since we don\'t like being over-posed or over directed. Josef made it really fun to be photographed.

He is also super responsive, and we got our pictures very quickly!

It would be a HUGE mistake to hire anyone else.

Andrea and I chose IQphoto for our wedding at City Hall, and we could not be happier with the results.

Joseph & Alex are true artists and organized our shots with incredible foresight and efficiency and clarity. We have dozens of absolutely stunning shots, any one of which could merit enlargement and placement on our walls. They know City Hall inside and out, and know how to build on the structure in the building to create incredible photos that are individual works of art.

An important thing to know as a couple that is about to get married is that you end up spending a lot of time on your wedding day with your photographers. Joseph and Alex are phenomenal from that perspective also - they are a lot of fun to spend time with and Andrea and I both agreed they were a special part of our wedding.

Joseph took engagement photos for us and we are so happy with the results! We received over 600 high resolution images just a few days after our shoot--what amazing turnaround time! There are so many wonderful photos that we\'re having a difficult time choosing our favorites (what a great problem to have, right?). They are all just SO GOOD! We have a nice mix of beautiful, artistic shots and fun candids. Overall, we had a great time and received amazing photos at a reasonable price--definitely five stars!

Joseph photographed our wedding at SF City Club a few weeks back and we could not be happier! He was so organized, everything was so perfect, I did not have to worry about anything! Joseph and Alex did our wedding photos and video at City Hall in SF. Not only did they do a great job, the absolutely saved my day!!

It just happened that I picked the busiest Thursday morning to be married there: there was a Mayor\'s procession along with graduations going on. The Judge had just informed us that she was no longer going to perform ceremonies in the rotunda and only in a private room!! Just as panic was about to set in- Joseph saved the day! He insisted that there would be a perfect spot on the 4th floor that would be quite and private- and sure enough he was right! If not for this suggestion- I may have been married in a white walled room.

Joseph and Alex were easy to work with, really efficient. Joseph got some amazing shots. We spent some time after City Hall down by Crissie field and got amazing shots of the bridge along with on the beach. Just a few days after, I was able to view and download my pictures!

Alex has also been really great about helping up find the right some to put our video to. He shot our video in 8mm- which as a really awesome vintage look to it. He has also been really accommodating about letting us have the raw footage when he is done with our film!

I would suggest Joseph and Alex to anyone- esp if you\'re planning a city hall wedding! They do amazing work and are wonderful to work with!

Worth every penny! My experience w/ Joseph and Alex was awesome, two very talented brothers! We hired them for are city hall wedding and the final product was just amazing, everybody who saw my pictures complemented me on how beautiful and romantic the pictures were. Very artistic capturing every moment just how I want them to be remembered. So if your thinking that hiring a professional photographer/ videographer for your city hall wedding isn\'t worth it think again because hiring the the IQ team was the best decision i made. Had a very good experience w/ them very friendly and plus they knew every step of what we had to do at city hall so all i had to do was relax and look pretty for the pictures. OK, I signed up on Yelp and I\'m writing my first-ever review for the express purpose of giving Joseph and IQPhoto 5 stars!

When my fiance and I got engaged, my mom offered to buy us engagement photos as her gift. I was initially dismayed, picturing awkwardly posed head shots (\"OK, tilt your chin a bit more to the left, shift your shoulders down...\") for the newspaper. Groan. I was also feeling overwhelmed with all the wedding planning, people to call, expectations to meet, etc.

So after dragging my feet, I eventually hopped on Yelp to look up SF photographers. Magically, once I quickly found IQPhoto, everything became, well, magical! I was blown away by the engagement pictures, which were so fun-loving and happy. Then I read Joseph\'s website narrative about his philosophy behind engagement pictures: capturing this special time in the couple\'s life. And I could see it right there in the pictures! I could feel my stress evaporating as my focus shifted to what a fun, blessed phase of life this is, never mind all the planning!

Next step, what were the chances he would be available later that same week, since both my fiance and I had the day off on Friday? I e-mailed Joseph, and he responded promptly that sure enough, Friday would work. Great! He provided so much helpful info, including what to wear and not, tips on makeup, and directions to our planned meeting spot.

So, the photo shoot itself. I was a little concerned my fiance would have a hard time loosening up in front of the camera. But Joseph set us at ease from the start. He explained that you don\'t have to be gazing into each others\' eyes with sappy smiles the whole time; it\'s his job to portray your attraction to each other through your movement, facial expressions, etc. He also kept us moving, never longer than a few minutes in any given location. By the end of the two hours, we were about ready to be done, but the whole time was enjoyable, friendly, and easy-going.

Then, the wait for... the pictures! Within two weeks, Joseph e-mailed us the website where we could view all 250 (!) of our pictures. That\'s a lot of pictures! And it\'s super-easy, because we can e-mail it with the password and anyone can order prints through the website. I can also download them and reproduce them myself, although whatever we order through Joseph, he\'ll touch up before printing. I haven\'t ordered any prints yet, because I can\'t narrow it down from my top favorite 25! So I can\'t tell you about prints. But throughout the process, Joseph was so quick and thorough in his e-mail responses, I can\'t imagine there would be any trouble with the rest.

I can say that I\'ve only shared the pictures with a few people so far, but the responses have been glowing. People have commented that we looked so happy with each other that it brought tears to their eyes. So that\'s a testament to Joseph\'s ability to work magic, documenting the beautiful chemistry of Love on film!

Unfortunately we\'re getting married in Chicago and it was too much to arrange to fly Joseph out, so I\'m jealous of anyone who gets to book him as a wedding photographer. He was a delight to work with, and I can imagine that he would set everyone at ease, from the most stressed out bridesmaid to the craziest Aunt and Uncle.

I feel so fortunate to have started out our wedding journey on this note, with Joseph, and I would recommend him as highly as possible to anyone considering his services! A thousand thanks for this precious gift which lasts a lifetime!

My wife and I live in Dallas, but all of our friends and family are in the Bay. Obivously, the wedding is going to be in the Bay. After some wedding planning through Google, we found Joseph\'s website on the City Hall wedding. After browsing through his city hall wedding collections, we decided to have a simple wedding to avoid all the remote wedding planning nightmare. It was Joseph who gave us the idea of getting married in the city hall.

Joseph was very helpful and was very prompt in his responses. He showed up at the city hall on time and was able to get us started quickly. He seems to have a way to calm the bride very well (my wife was having a mental breakdown before the wedding), and he instructed many creative poses for us. We were really pleased at his creativity and results. He captured some of the simple interactions among us and family/friends and was able to portrait them very well in his photos. It seems like every photo was telling certain moment of the story.

Joseph also has his way to organize group pictures as well. With a party of 10+, it can be chaotic to take pictures. However, his instructions to every group pictures was very clear, and allowed us to get great pictures without people running around all the time.

Finally, he knows the place inside out, and he also know places that are great for pictures. You will need to go to his photo collection to see it, and I can say that only a few people know the intricacy of camera angles and light/shadow. After all, Joseph is the only photographer we know who can shoot photos as he walks....good luck finding someone who can top that!

We used IQphoto for our small intimate wedding at city hall last week. My husband and I were floored by how good Joseph was. He\'d get a great rating by the quality and creativity of his photography alone, but there was much more than that. In our case, we relied on his experience to choose where in city hall to get married, where to take various shots, and he even was the one to choreograph the ceremony. His balance between fading into the background to catch people\'s personalities in a natural un-posed manner, and his ability to be nice but firm when managing group pictures with kids is exceptional. He even gave us a bonus for free-- bringing a second photographer with him (Alex) who also took great shots. I recommend Joseph for your most important photography without reservation.

Joseph! Joseph! Joseph! Not sure where to even begin with this review. I was looking to elope for my wedding and came across a wedding board. I saw the most intriguing pictures and wondered where they had been taken and most importantly, WHO had taken them. Luckily for me as I read through the board, the bride mentioned Joseph\'s name. I immediately went to his site and fell in love with his work all over again. I contacted him that same night and set up potential dates. At that point, I had not even checked to see if the date was available at San Francisco\'s City Hall. I checked the date at city hall and immediately secured his services.

Coming in from out of town (Michigan) for a wedding is scary enough, but when you have no idea what your photographer looks like makes it even worse. As we sat anxiously waiting for our number to be called, lo and behold I saw this man with two cameras hanging off his shoulders come around the corner. I knew immediately it was Joseph. Our eyes connected and it was on from there. From the time we first spoke until the time we left it was magical.

Joseph immediately began taking pictures and capturing our moment. He gave us some direction, but not too much. Then much to my surprise, here comes his assistant Alex with two more cameras. Alex stood in the background and captured so many interesting moments as well.

Joseph is one of the most artistic people I have met in my life. So many people claim to be artists, but Joseph is the epitome of what an artist is. I feel like I worked with one of the world\'s greatest photographers. Every moment we had with him was so special. Joseph is very professional and very passionate about his work. My husband and I were in awe the whole day and even still today. Every time I show someone my pictures they say it looks like it came out of a magazine. (They really do!) I am so blessed to been able to work with Joseph and let me not forget Alex as well. The only thing I regret is I did not get a picture of the both of them for my personal album.

Joseph and his team were hired to photograph our December wedding. Hiring him was one of the best decisions we have made for that special day. We both wanted our wedding photos to be especially special because it was one of the few keepsakes we\'ll have of our wedding. From the time we got engaged to the day of our wedding was only 7 months at most. My husband (fiancé at the time), immediately rummage the Internet to find the perfect photographer for our day. Joseph was the first photographer we have met among other candidates and we were sold the moment we left his studio. We booked with him a week later and didn\'t even bother to interview the others.

Our wedding photo were post on the Internet not too long after the wedding. We were happy and amazed at how the pictures had turned out. We got a combination of traditional pictures of family portraits to photojournalistic pictures that captured the day\'s activities. I especially like how he captured the details of the wedding décor and candid shots of our family and guest when they least expected it. Each picture had an artsy and refreshing effect. It speaks of modern and yet classic photography that I believe only a talented professional can capture on the lens.

Joseph also selected a few of our pictures to be photo shopped and the effect of those were even more astonishing. They were fun, cool and artsy. We also purchased an engagement session with Joseph and I truly felt that was like a practice run prior to our wedding day. It allowed my husband and I to get comfortable being captured on the lens every second. Then we got to critic the results, i.e. did we display the best pose, did we have our best smile because there\'s always one side you\'ll like better. . . We love our engagement photos by the way and we were happy to be photographed at the sight where we got engaged.

I highly recommend Joseph and his team of photographers. They are a talented group of professionals and have won several leading awards as proof of their talent. I even ran into random pictures that he had taken from past weddings in a nationally distributed wedding magazine. I highly doubt he had advertised those photos. Joseph is also quick to respond to any inquiry you may have. The combination of talent and professionalism makes him gold in my eye.

1) Professionalism - He was on time, courteous and so much fun to work with. He has this flair and style about him that I loved. It was very comfortable working with him in front of the camera and he will direct you as needed so that you will come out with the most beautiful photographs. He is very passionate and serious about his work and once you get to meet him, you will understand.
2) Creativity - We did not want the average, older style shots for our wedding. We wanted someone with a fresh modern take and an eye to be able to capture shots that were different from other photographers. It was a pleasure meeting Joseph and having him as our photographer on our special day. He and his assistant did a fabulous job. I\'m extremely impressed with his work and absolutely love the photos.

My husband and I had the honor to have Joseph as our photographer for our 2009 New Year\'s Eve Wedding. Joseph and his assistant captured many photos of \"Wedding Cover Magazines.\" The photos are truly a brides dream. I could not hold myself back from shedding a few tears when I viewed the photos. My husband and I decided to marry at the last minute. I mean last minute! We only had four days to make it all happen. On December 26, 2009 my husband coordinates for us to get the marriage license and scheduled the wedding at SF City Hall with a wedding date of December 31, 2009. On December 26, I decided to go shopping at Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, CA. I walked through Nordstrom\'s to exist on the second floor of the Mall. I looked around with misplaced look. I normally start shopping on the 2nd floor but for some reason I was pulled by a force to go down the escalator to begin assembling the wedding of my dreams. As I reached the bottom of the escalator I looked to my left and chills ran through my body. OMG! There staring at me was Blossoms Formal & Bridal Shop. I was overwhelmed with the selection of wedding dresses, but that was fine because my plan was to get a formal simple dress. My choices were not of the best, so I asked the sales representative for her professional assistance. I told her I was looking for a last minute wedding dress for New Year\'s Eve. She looked at me as if I were insane. With a smile and pleasant look she toured me around. I told her to please help me find a dress that was not too \"Fluffy.\" I can laugh now, but it wasn\'t funny at the time. I was looking for something fitted. She said; I have the perfect dress for you. It was the only dress she pulled out for me to try on. I put it on and it was perfect! As if I had special ordered the dress. Ladies, when it\'s meant to be it all happens and it all falls into place. I can attest to it.

Finally, one of the most important pieces was to locate a photographer. My husband selected the photographer then I went online and viewed Joseph\'s photo gallery, which was impressive. We both loved it! My husband did a great job locating one of the most fabulous Bay Area photographers.

With only four days to put it all together. I never imagined our wedding would have had the outcome it did. PERFECT! By looking at our photos it appears as if we spent a lifetime planning the wedding. Few!

The most important was that Joseph and his assistant captured unforgettable and perfect moments of the wedding. We will \"cherish\" those beautiful moments for the rest of our lives. I couldn\'t have asked for anything better.

Joseph is super responsive, but he is a very busy guy, so you have to book early. He is also very easy going, just tell him what you want and prefer and he will provide his good service!

I am generally a very picky person all around, but I really like my engagement photos. I am used to staring into the camera with my ONE smile, but from the engagement photos, he captured another side of me! There weren\'t many photos where I was looking at the camera nor smiling big like I always do, I discovered a new side of me in photographs! Thanks Joseph :)

WOW, you guys are amazing. Every time we view our pictures, we see a new and beautiful detail that your cameras captured. Mark when we spoke a day before the wedding I was speechless when you informed me that a second photographer (Mike) would be coming at no additional cost. On the day of the wedding, Johnnie and I was so nervous. (who wouldn\'t be). but we both agreed, that while you and mike was taking pictures in our rooms. We became very relaxed, by your presence and comforting words. on the way to the church, I remember losing one of my earrings. House keeping looked everywhere for it, but could not find it. I was devastated. Mike thank you for joining the search and finding my earring.

After the ceremony, while doing your jobs. you guys dealt with our crazy family and friends so well. all during the day our guest was asking, were did we find you two, following positive comments. Getting married in San Francisco, it was a must that we had pictures taking by the golden gate bridge. unfortunately the fog would not allow us to do so. Mark and meant the world to us that you offered at no extra cost, to come back and take those pictures.(and you did)

by the time we arrived at the reception you both had work so hard. But at the same time so patient and easy going the entire day. as the evening progressed, Johnnie and I just wanted pictures of the first dance and the cake cutting. After that happened, we lost track of time. when we approached you mark to inform you that it was OK to leave, you insisted that there was more shouts, that we would enjoyed if we felt up to it. and you were right.

Even though my husband and I wanted a small wedding at City Hall in San Francisco. We wanted to have great pictures. I searched the internet and interviewed several photographers when I came across Joseph. After speaking with Joseph and seeing his presentation I was impressed, but my husband thought he was a little pricey for only two hours. That was until Joseph showed up at City Hall and begin talking pictures. He took great candid shots of my family and friends. After the ceremony he took us around City Hall and took more pictures. I told him that I wanted to have pictures taken at Fort Mason with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background and he did it. We received our pictures when he said we would and when we seen our pictures they were so beautiful that they brought tears to my eyes. My husband had to eat his words and he said \"that guy was worth every penny\". Joseph and his assistant were friendly, flexible and knew special places in City Hall that would make you photos look as if you spend thousands of dollars on your wedding. We just got our engagement pictures back and I have to say - Joseph is PHENOMENOL. As a marketer and having worked with several photographers and graphic designers, I\'ve developed a keen eye for art - unfortunately that means I\'m picky when it comes to photography. I scoured numerous photography portfolios and found many photographers\' work consisted of very straight-on shots with not a lot of interest (think bridal party in a line looking straight at the camera with cheesy smiles).

Usually I have a shot list when working with photographers, but I knew I could trust Joseph\'s creativity to get the perfect shots. And I was right - with Joseph, every photograph was unique, creative, and of course absolutely gorgeous. From interesting angles, shadows, and backgrounds, to our different facial expressions, he really knows how to capture the moment. He even managed to get a shot of us through the window of a moving car within a few seconds of time. Now, that\'s amazing.

Usually photographers attribute less time to engagement pictures (vs. wedding pictures), but Joseph struck me as one of the rare photographers that takes the time and energy for perfection despite his busy schedule. After the shoot, he spends time optimizing each image and applies different effects and color washes.

I showed his photographs to my marketing team and graphic designer and they were all wowed - they said our photos look like what you would find in a magazine or poster store.

At first spending money on photography was a bit difficult to swallow, but after seeing our engagement pictures, I\'d have to say Joseph is worth every penny. When it comes to your wedding/engagement photography, this is not a place to skimp on. It\'s a once in a lifetime event and when the tables have been cleared and the flowers tossed away, you have your photos to look back on. Trust me, you will not regret it.

My fiance and I had our engagement photographs taken by Joseph Kohn from IQphoto, and we were thrilled with the results! Joseph has a very keen eye for taking interesting and unique pictures from all kinds of angles. He is extremely professional and very talented. We had fun shooting our pics all over San Fransisco. I do not live in San Fran, but I did a lot of research on many photographers and chose Joseph solely based on the amazing pictures on his blog. After looking at our photos, I know we made the right choice. My only complaint is that we have so many great pictures that I'm having trouble choosing one for our save-the-dates!

We got married at the end of July and although we had a tiny wedding at San Francisco City Hall, we still wanted awesome pictures, and that\'s exactly what we got! We opted for the City Hall package, which fit our needs perfectly. We have received a ton of compliments and the hardest thing right now is to determine which pictures are going to end up on the mantelpiece.... :-) The weather was not particularly great on our wedding day and yet, Alex and Eliot managed to take amazing pictures at the Palace of Fine Arts and Crissy Field. They truly are professionals and I would recommend them in a heartbeat, so, if you want Joseph to shoot your wedding, and he is already booked or out of the country, as was the case for our July wedding, and he tells you that he will send you his \"associates\', relax, you WILL get awesome pictures, in record time, too!

Joseph is amazing! He shot our wedding Oct 2nd of this year and he was the best investment. We were not from San Francisco and I found him off of the internet. Without ever meeting him and just communicating through email, I chose him solely based off of his work on-line. He was worth every penny!

I have had five friends get married this year and without bias our photos are the best. Joseph shoots in a photo journalistic view. His work is very artistic and asthetically pleasing. As a same sex couple trying to beat Prop 8, Joseph Kohn photographed our LEGAL wedding at SF city hall October 08 and due to weather and scheduling issues our engagement photos August 09 - better late than never right?! Having never selected a wedding photographer, we went on line, and after some searching found IQ Photo. We couldn\'t be happier with our choice. Joseph has photographed many weddings at city hall so he knew all the perfect photo spots. It was also an incredibly hot day and Joseph adjusted to take more indoor photos with friends and family. We have not worked on our album yet, but I anticipate that it will be something we look at often to relive our wedding day.

Joseph and Eliot both photographed us for our San Francisco City Hall wedding back in March of 09. We met Joseph at the City Hall and took pictures on all three floors of the building. He was prompt, efficient, artistic, and most importantly, he captured the entire event in a very natural and unposed style. We got our photo CDs about 2 weeks later and we are very happy with the work! After the ceremony, we met with Eliot (Joseph\'s associate) at the San Francisco Ferry building for more pictures. We rode on the cable car up to the Grace Cathedral and Eliot did an excellent job capturing that cable car excursion. Neither photographers were bossy or moody as I have heard of other photographers. The most amazing thing is that we did this all in less than 3 hours and ended up with enough pictures to put into a beautiful album.

Couldn\'t have asked for a more versatile, accommodating photographer (and assistant), with talent to boot!

We booked Joseph for 4 hours for our civil ceremony at City Hall based on his experience shooting there. He followed us on a cable car ride after to Palace of the Fine Arts and Crissy Fields and ended his assignment at One Market restaurant where the reception was held. I was very impressed with the results of the photos. They looked amazing considering the day was somewhat miserable. City Hall was a bit chaotic with tons of people setting up for an event and Palace of the Fine Arts and Crissy Fields were so windy and cold that I couldn\'t even feel my toes. But the photos turned out much more grounded, happy and interesting. It is helping me recreate the memories of that day in a totally new way. Now my only regret is that we didn\'t take any more photos when he offered.

One other cool thing about booking Joseph besides his expertise about City Hall and San Francisco is that he brought an assistant along who is also fantastic. I really liked his photos as well and you will not be disappointed.

Joseph is one of the most talented photographers I have ever met. It sounds like hyperbole, but I am being entirely sincere. I hired him to shoot my wedding and he was wonderful - even though my husband is a bit of a wallflower and hates taking pictures. Joseph made us look great and was unobtrusive, professional, and lighthearted.

But what makes Joseph really stand out is his work. He somehow takes an ordinary picture opportunity and finds a way to make it unique, creative, and beautiful. Have you seen Josef Kohn\'s portfolio? You could read all the reviews in the world on this man, but HIS PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. Others have said it before, but it is soooo true. He has that artistic vision and his work is stunning.

We met him for the first time on the morning of our San Francisco City Hall Elopement in September 2008. I was nervous that I hadn\'t met him before, but he was there waiting for us when we walked in a few minutes early. The funny things is that a lot of planning went into our elopement, but we picked Josef based only on his awesome portfolio and because he already had a \"City Hall Package\" on his website. I didn\'t even price out other photographers, Josef was the one we wanted! So when we arrived at City Hall he showed us where to go and explained the procedure to us. It was so nice to have someone who already knew the system. Not to mention he knew his way around building and the best places to take pictures.

We got to choose another location to shoot more pictures after the ceremony and the thing I really wanted to do was a \"Trash the Dress\" session. TTD is where you take more artistic shots usually in ways that get the dress all dirty. Most brides would cringe at the thought of destroying their gown, but I really wanted some artistic photos. When Josef asked where we wanted to go for the second location, I sheepishly mentioned we\'d like to try TTD, maybe in the ocean. His eyes instantly lit up and he was surprised that I had even heard of it. He kept reminding us that ocean was going to be cold, but I could see that he was just as excited as I was about it. So after the ceremony we headed to a beach in Daly City and got some amazing shots! And YES IT WAS COLD! Josef was so encouraging and kept saying \"You guys are my heros!\" We honestly had such a fun time splashing in the water and laughing at how crazy it was to be in the ocean in Northern California in September! It was an incredible experience and Josef made us feel like models or celebrities.

But the best part by far was receiving our pictures. Josef emailed us a few gorgeous shots while we were on our honeymoon, and the CD containing image files was in our mailbox by the time we got back. We eloped with just Josef as our witness so none of our family or friends got to see it. The photos Josef took were the only way our families could feel like they were there with us. We used one picture as our wedding announcement and set up a website with pictures so that our families could see our special day. The reaction we got from our family was so great! Everyone loved to photos and told us that they looked so glamorous. My mother-in-law, who was especially hurt that she didn\'t get to be there, completely changed her mind when she saw our pictures. We owe it all to Josef!

The bride and groom wanted a \'small wedding of the century\' in San Francisco. They wanted the best photographer since after the wedding they have only the photographs to remember one of the most important day of their life. With over a year to plan my wedding, I had plenty of time to choose the perfect photographer. I found Joseph on the internet, and was very impressed with his work. He was the only photographer I came across with TONS of pics from various weddings/engagements in his portfolio, which game me an opportunity to see his work. I was also particular about finding someone who could shoot an Indian wedding (and who could handle an Indian wedding!), since there are many traditions that I wanted captured.

My husband and I just got married on June 5th, 2009 and I was lucky to find Joseph at IQ Photo. I did a search on Google and Yelp and his name came up quite a bit. There was nothing but positive remarks about his work. His website speaks all! Not only was he very prompt to answering my emails, he was very honest and extremely nice & very professional. When I finally got to meet him the day of my wedding, he was very easy to work with. He had a lot of wonderful ideas of how to take the pictures - where to take the pictures and was open to my ideas as well. He suggested the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park and we were nothing but pleased with the scenery and the weather was fantastic. Joseph is wonderful to work with - also can be very funny which caused my husband and I to laugh quite a bit. I highly recommend him for engagement, family, corporate, receptions even to take photos of your pets - the possibilities are endless with him! My wife and I were married in San Francisco in May 2009 and we reached out to Joseph after seeing his beautiful photographs on his website. My wife called him and was saddened to learn that he was already booked for our wedding day, but they ended up having a lengthy conversation about wedding photography and the reasons she liked his documentary style so much (she\'s a former newspaper reporter and was turned off by most wedding photography because it looked so staged. After watching the video (made by a different company) I realized that Joseph\'s pictures actually enhanced my memory of the wedding. Our parents absolutely love the pictures and cannot stop raving about them. The photo album Joseph put together is stunning but mere icing on the cake: beautiful layouts with each page telling a story. Photos are meticulously selected, cropped and organized upon an artistic photographic background.

Although Joseph\'s talent would give him reason to have a giant ego, he is very very hard working and timely (matter of days) in putting together a fantastic online 3-4 minute slideshow. We watched, as tears rolled down our cheeks, the slideshow for the first time during our honeymoon. The slideshow is perhaps the single most important artifact from the wedding in today\'s internet age: parents and relatives can easily show friends and colleagues, guests can relive highlights, and coworkers not present can witness and experience the event in a few minutes. People I don\'t even know have complimented our slideshow.

I still, from time to time, watch the slideshow online and I wonder how the room is so dusty... causing my eyes to water.

I met Joseph Kohn at a bridal show many months before my wedding; I wasn\'t even looking for a photographer yet. His amazing work caught my eye, as I was walking by. I stopped to pick up a brochure and take a better look. I was given a sample CD by Joseph to take home and show my fianc. Photography was always a sore subject for me, as I never liked how I looked in pictures. However, I understood that it is one of the most important for my wedding. It doesn\'t matter how amazing your wending is, if you don\'t have a good photographer who could catch and capture some of the most important moments of your one in a lifetime event.

My whole life I have been told by friends and family that I am not photogenic, but Joseph has proved everyone wrong. This was evident in our engagement pictures which were incredible. Let alone, when we received our first preview of the wedding photos, which was maybe 80 pictures out of 1400, I was amazed. I waited every day, checked my email every hour as I couldn\'t wait to see the rest of the photos. As for my family and friends, I don\'t think they will ever again tell me that I am not photogenic because I will have my wedding album, as proof.

Besides the fact that Joseph\'s work has an incredible art to it. He was very easy to work with, before, during and after the event. He is very punctual, when it comes to arriving for the event, as well as when it comes to returning his work. He gets it back to you in a timely manner. The work on his website looks good, but the quality of printed work is two times better. When my fianc and I came to meet with Joseph just to get an idea of what we want we walked out of his office with a contract, I didn\'t want to miss the opportunity, I was afraid he would get booked for our date. I was so excited when we booked him, I was even more excited when we got our engagement pictures back, and I have no words to explain my feelings when we got our wedding pictures back.

Being from out of state, we were very nervous about picking a photographer just based on searching the internet and viewing various websites. However, I was immediately drawn to the images on IQphoto\'s site - it was just what we were looking for. We hired Joseph to photograph our wedding at San Francisco City Hall. But, not having Joseph, we were still a little bit concerned when our wedding day rolled around. Once we met Joseph, we knew that we had made the right decision. However, I never anticipated that the photographs would be as good as they were. And, more importantly, he truly captured the emotion of the moment - rather than just taking a lot of choreographed photos. Since a lot of our family and friends could not travel out to San Francisco for our wedding, the photos were very important to us so that we could share our moment with all of our loved ones. Each of them have commented on how appreciative they were of the photos - because they were able to feel the emotion of the moment through the photos, feeling like they were a part of the ceremony. When I saw my best friend\'s wedding pictures...I just knew I had to have IQ Photo to shoot for my wedding day. Each picture tells a story...and what I mean is that .. there would be 3 or 4 things going on in a picture. Its not just a shot of the bride or a shot of the rings. What Joseph Kohn does is he would have the background blurred enough for you to still see whats going on while capturing the main thing/item/person in the foreground. Or a flowergirl watching the bride while she is having her makeup put on. John Kohn, would focused his shot on the bride as the foreground BUT still include the flowergirl in the background watching the bride as she has her makeup done. This is something a lot of photographers forget/overlook...the smallest details that may seem small to them and not important .. when IT IS important for the bride and groom because its things like that that on the day of the wedding...the bride and groom is so comsumed and is not able to see.

Our Search:
When shopping for our wedding photographer we were initially overwhelmed by options, but after viewing hundreds of online portfolios, Joseph\'s were the most amazing and absolutely breathtaking. Many of his previews brought me to tears. I didn\'t know the couples, but through Joseph\'s photos, I was able to see their story, and feel their sentiment.
Joseph\'s photos revealed an obvious passion and determination of capturing the authentic emotions as opposed to a pre-packed repertoire of posed celebratory images. It was important to us to be able to look back on our wedding day and remember the moments, not remembering having to pause and pose.

Our Meet:
He did not sit us down in some brightly lit \'sales office\'-like room. He did not pull out a pen and paper to shoot detailed questions at us like some doctor filling out a medical history form. Everything about our meetings with Joseph was inviting. Even during the first meeting, we felt like we were just updating an old friend about out lives and our wedding. There are rare moments during wedding planning when you feel that you have found someone you can have absolute trust in. In Joseph, we trusted hi vision and judgment completely.

Our Big Day and Beyond:
When Joseph arrived, I was in a hotel hallway on the phone panicking , because something was not going as planned. Seeing his calmness and assuredness, I was immediately put at ease. I smiled my first smile of the day, and he caught it with his camera, to us it was priceless. Though during the next 18 hours many surprises came our way, we didn\'t have a moment of stress. It would be an understatement to say that Joseph put that in motion.

During the big day, he was efficient, focused and professional. I\'m not sure how he managed to be everywhere at once, there were so many moments that could easily have been swallowed up in the blur of the day. He never interrupted the flow of events and yet we never once had to look for him when a \"moment\" occurred.

Our pictures came out better than we could have ever imagined. Our expectations were met in the form of uncompromised beautiful images. His images exemplified a reality that supersedes our non-creative eye, it expressed textures, angles and sentiment that we has missed or forgotten. Joseph capture every important moment of the day and created remarkable pieces of art which has allowed us to truly relive and re-feel our day over and over again. The images will be treasured by us and our families for generations.

We highly recommend Joseph and definately plan to use IQphoto for our future events.

Joseph is an artist. There are no whens, hows or whys about it. He can take the most mundane moment or backdrop and turn it into the most beautiful photo you\'ve ever seen. But of course your wedding isn\'t mundane - it\'s the most important day of your life. And not only will Joseph capture all your special moments (and I mean all of them), and make you look good, he will encapsulate them in such a way that everyone who sees your photos is transported to that day. Even if you were there, viewing his photos somehow heighten the whole experience, capturing all the subtle moments you missed and making the ones you remember even lovelier.

But Joseph isn\'t just an artist - he\'s a professional, and a super nice guy. He\'s always on time, always responds quickly, and works with you to find out what you need (and he WILL deliver). My wife remembered Joseph Kohn\'s work from her best friend\'s wedding, which was three years ago. I thought it was pretty impressive that my wife would remember his work three years after the fact, so I was immediately intrigued.

Our experience with him was AWESOME. My main concern in picking a wedding photographer was that we would end up spending a lot of money on photos that nobody would care about in two years and that would make our wedding seem like a boring, staid affair instead of a celebration. Instead, Joseph really captured ALL the aspects of the day for me - the solemnity, the mystery, the anticipation, the joy, the party. He has a genius for staging photos in a way that really evokes the feeling of the day for me months afterwards, but he also has a genius for candid shots that are artistically interesting and bring out the human heart of a scene. And by \"artistically interesting,\" I mean he shoots the coolest wedding photos I\'ve ever seen - in fact, he shoots some of the coolest photos I\'ve ever seen, period. If you\'ve never seen wedding photography that you honestly thought was cool without being gimmicky, you need to check out Joseph\'s work.

Besides the quality of his photography, Joseph was a joy to work with. He was a complete professional - which means he knew when (and how!) to be unobtrusive and how to move post-ceremony photos efficiently without being pushy, but ALSO that he genuinely shared our happiness. Throughout the process I felt like Joseph approached our wedding asking himself not how much money he could talk us into spending but how he could enhance the day for us, and our memories of it. Joseph really blew me away with every aspect of this process.

After reviewing countless wedding photographer\'s websites, Simon and I were very excited to meet with Joseph Kohn. His website provides you with not only breath-taking examples of his work, but there is a great deal of information that helped us to understand what we should be looking for in a photographer. At our meeting he presented us with several slideshows of weddings he had recently done to give us a sense of his artistic style and we were quite impressed. I have to admit though that it really isn\'t until you have gone through process yourself and you are looking at your own completed photos that you can truly appreciate his dedication and the quality of his work.
Just a few examples of the wonderful little surprises that we had:
- We were floored when we found out that Joseph had been up all night with his wife for the birth of their first child and still showed up for our wedding the next afternoon!
- We were still on our honeymoon when we received an email telling us that the proofs were ready for viewing...hundreds of them!
- We knew from our meeting that we would be selecting the photos to create our wedding album; that sounded like a great idea at the time, but when you\'re looking at hundreds of pictures and trying to choose which ones will look good together, it begins to lose its appeal pretty quickly. Fortunately Joseph saved us because within a few weeks he put together 25 double-page photo montages that were absolutely stunning. We ended up choosing them all!

We thought the photo montages that he emailed to us looked incredible, but they pale in comparison to the finished album, allowing us to re-live the special feelings and private moments of our wedding day with each turn of the page. We give Joseph Kohn our highest recommendations and we would definitely recommend him to our family and friends. Thank you, Joseph!

I have never written a review before because I tend not to be a fan or groupie for much of anything...BUT I decided to write a review because I recently got married at City Hall in San Francisco last week and used Joseph Kohn from IQ photo. I loved his website and asked him to do the photographs because he clearly has an uncanny creative artistic eye.

Besides the fact that the photos are truly beautiful, magnificent and unique, his work was seamless. He was professional from the beginning of our contact to the end. His presence at the event itself took a great deal of finesse to manage and organize all our friends (which is truly like herding cats!) and he has a great sense of humor and clarity about what works. He was so skillful and patient with us throughout the process and which added a very nice element to the mix. if you don\'t want to waste another moment asking \"is this the right photographer for me?\" then book him! JOSEPH IS AN AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER. He photographed our September 13th wedding at the Stanford church, and we are so happy and satisfied with the outcome! From the beginning, Joseph has been a pleasant and easy person to work with. He is very professional and talented. We found that his candid shots tell a wonderful story of our wedding day in pictures and some of the photos we received even look like works of art! We waited 12 years to get married, so getting pictures that would allow us to savor this moment was very important to us. We were very critical of the composition, color, sharpness, and style of the pictures taken by the various studios we visited (we checked out at least 7 and Joseph\'s portfolio was by far the best). You will get your money\'s worth if you hire Joseph; he has a great eye for composing a gorgeous shot, and he really knows how to capture the excitement of the day with his camera. This is a skill that we did not necessarily find in the photographers we visited when we examined their portfolios. We absolutely LOVE it and still feel a tremendous amount of joy watching it! The full array of photos from our wedding were also on-line for everyone to see in only 6 days. Beyond being the most creative photographer we\'ve ever encountered, Joseph is also a genuinely nice person. Being somewhat new to the area, I wasn\'t sure where I could find a good make-up artist or florist. I looked at some of the pics on Joseph\'s website and pointed out some photos where I liked the person\'s makeup or their wedding flowers and Joseph was kind enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to email some of these people to find out for me who did the work. Joseph Kohn is a true professional. His work is amazing and from the moment you meet him you are instantly swept up in the passion that he has for his work. He does not just take pictures, he uses his talent to photograph the subject. He will ask you to do something crazy, but the photo is amazing. My wife hiked through a field in her wedding dress BEFORE the ceremony because Joseph saw a beautiful photo, and he was right. The photos from the field are incredible (check the website for his portfolio, Palm Event Center and you will see what I mean). His use of colors and nature is amazing; every photo turns out to be exquisite. On a day as special as your wedding day, you don\'t want to take any chances; you want the mood to be captured perfectly. That is what Joseph does: his photographs bring back emotions and memories that you would otherwise have forgotten. In the end, the only things you take away from a special event are your memories and the pictures. His artistic style allows you remember just what you were feeling and thinking at any specific moment. We are so thankful we found him. He has become our family photographer from here forward.

"OH MY GOSH! ... You're soooo GOOD!!!! Why do you have to make me smile, laugh and tear during work, I don't know, but Thank you!" Those were the first thoughts, feelings, emotions and reply I had given Joseph when he emailed me a quick slide show of about 80 pictures, or what I called a teaser, of our 1100+ photos from our June 07 wedding.

Joseph's portfolio's amazing and his website speaks for itself. However, what made me, or shall I say us, sign him was that ever single picture was breathtaking and it seemed so timeless. Come to later than see an album, and we were speechless, and add in his photo-journalistic approach, it made choosing him easy. On our wedding, he was very prompt and funny. He got a shot of my husband almost shedding a tear during the ceremony, me losing a veil because I kept sticking my head out of our Rolls, constantly joking around with our bridal party in their convertible Rolls, and to just having with our entire family, he was there to capture every moment. They say a picture says a thousand words, and he got the shot, or shall I say, all the shots; but most importantly, he got my husband and I just being us--this happy, carefree, calm and usually collective couple who just wanted to get married. There are no words that can describe and express that feeling when it's just you and the one you love looking into each others eyes for the very first time as one, but Joseph captured that moment and made time stand still.

When you begin to plan the wedding of your dreams, with every vendor you meet and every contract you sign, you know you found "it" or the "one" and even the "dress" because you just know. Ask our friends, they too, ended up signing him and they loved the end results as well... and like I've told them, have I ever doubted you, especially when it's the biggest day of your life! With Joseph, there was no doubt that we, along with our friends, had chosen the right one.

This is the first review I\'ve done..and I feel that I must . I\'ve always wanted great pictures for my wedding but being quite a picky individual, I knew it was going to be hard for me to find a photographer for my wedding that would understand my style...then I found Joseph and I couldn\'t be any happier.

Joseph is excellent with photojournalism, but most of all he is hard working, motivated, funny and loves his job. Joseph helped made us feel comfortable from the very beginning...Although he is all about capturing those spontaneous moments, he also attend to our ideas and needs. On our wedding day, Joseph was with us the whole day and captured every moment with perfection..again, I couldn\'t be any happier. I greatly recommends Joseph...he is one those photographer that really WOW you...and excites you when you look at your pictures., he is simply talented. I feel that photography tells a story...it captures priceless moments that last a lifetime and you can trust Joseph to give you just that.

I tend not to post reviews, but had such a great experience with joseph that i just had to. A couple of years ago, two friends of mine got married, and sent around their wedding pictures. I still remember gasping at those pictures. They weren\'t like any of those traditional, corny shots we were used to - they captured those elusive emotional moments and really got the feeling of the event. I made a mental note then that if i ever got married, I\'d want that same photographer, w/ that precise yet carefree style, all about the special moments rather than the snapshots.

So fastforward to this year, when my wedding was fast approaching and I hadn\'t chosen a wedding photographer yet. I just wasn\'t seeing the same caliber of photos - or if i was, they cost tens of thousands of dollars. So I emailed my friend asking what the name of that amazing photographer was, and contacted him.

And, miraculously, he was able to come shoot our wedding - a destination wedding in mexico. After the groom, it was the best decision i made. We quite honestly spent no time on the photos - we were always running late, didn\'t want to take time away from our guests, and wanted to ake sure the wedding festivities were going well - but somehow he managed to take amazing shots. My hubby had little interest in the photography, but when he saw the pictures he was a convert. In the 5 minutes that Joseph managed to get us alone during the reception, he took some of the most jaw-dropping shots i\'d ever seen. He would steal us away for a minute at a time and get some amazing pictures in., I still have no idea when and how he did it.

He was completely unobtrusive, yet somehow always there. And he was extremely available both before the wedding (during the planning) and during (and after!), and suggested some amazing shots/ideas for the ceremony. I wanted to do a \'teash the dress\' session - he was excited and had some great ideas, and got some amazing shots in the pool and in the ocean! And the slideshow he put together (without me lifting a finger, mind you) was amazing - people keep telling me it\'s the best wedding photography they\'ve ever seen. I tend to agree.

So if you\'re looking for a top-notch, flexible, reasonable wedding photgrapher who\'s really willing to work with you - and you want amazing ohotos with very little effort - you can\'t go wrong with Joseph and his team. (Eliot Khuner was his second shooter, and Eliot was an absolute sweetheart - so flexible, available, amazing photogrpahs, and a great way with people)

Our wedding was a complicated Indian wedding with a lot of rituals but Joseph did a great job. We are really happy with the way our wedding pictures turned out. Joseph has a great eye for capturing the right moments. His compositions were great in terms of color and symmetry. We got a lot of compliments and everybody loved our wedding pictures. We would definitely recommend Joseph.

Wedding photography was high up on our list of priorities (We signed a contract in May 2006 for a wedding in July 2007). We took the time to browse many websites and interview multiple photographers before selecting Joseph for our photography needs. After our initial meeting, I kept in touch with Joseph--sent him our itineraries... gave him an overview of the events to come. On our big day, he showed up early; stayed as long as needed to get the job done; and was kind enough to check in one last time with us at the reception and congratulate us once more as we danced on the dance floor.

Joseph was very professional, respectful, and fun to work with. We selected an unlimited package which gave my family and friends plenty of time to have photos taken (a great mixture of posed and candid shots). Before the ceremony, as bridesmaids and myself were having hair and make-up done, Joseph took any and every opportunity to make the most of his time (i.e., taking detail shots, singles of bridal party, fun candids, etc.) It was very nice to even hear him call members of my family and bridal party by name. I imagine spending several hours with them enabled him to do that. His shooting style is low-key but the images he captures are spectacular.

First of all, I have to tell you a little bit about my wedding. It was a very small \"east meets west\" wedding of 40 people and it was held in our in-law house and vineyard. So, our utmost concern was photography since we did not have a fancy wedding and we were afraid we would not have enough nice photos to keep or perhaps even to make a nice album. I looked around for a long time for a photographer. One day, my brother who is an art student recommended IQPhoto because as he was an artist himself, he could really tell the difference between professional photography and all the other ones and he actually told me, Joseph was a true professional, as well as a great artist. I am not an artist myself, so I have no experience with the little details of good photography, like lighting or positioning. But my brother could actually point out that Joseph is so detailed at those little essences of photography and that is what makes him special. After reviewing countless wedding photographer websites, Simon and I were very excited to meet with Joseph Kohn.His website provides you with not only breath-taking examples of his work, but there is a great deal of information that helped us to understand what we should be looking for in a photographer. At our meeting he presented us with several slideshows of weddings he had recently done to give us a sense of his artistic style and we were quite impressed. I have to admit though that it really is not until you have gone through process yourself and you are looking at your own completed photos that you can truly appreciate his dedication and the quality of his work. Just a few examples of the wonderful little surprises that we had: - We were floored when we found out that Joseph had been up all night with his wife for the birth of their first child and still showed up for our wedding the next afternoon!- We were still on our honeymoon when we received an email telling us that the proofs were ready for viewing...hundreds of them!: - We knew from our meeting that we would be selecting the photos to create our wedding album. Because we did not have an actual wedding we wanted to go all out on wedding photos. I got way more that I ever dreamed of with Joseph and his assistant! Joseph Kohn was wonderful. Very professional and captured all the shots that we wanted for our engagement pictures, rehersal night and wedding. We were looking for a photojournalistic approach and by far he was the least complicated, fast, was behind the scenes, not in your face, and for the same amount as some packages, his offered an unlimited hours that we needed him. He had several high-end/pixal digital cameras which captured every moment that passed even in the HOT extreme weather that we had in Napa. His assistant was way past par as well. Joseph is very talented and brilliant photographer! We would definitely use him again.
