Lin and Doug share an interest in Japan. They met in a Japanese film class when they were both students at Penn State in State College, Pennsylvania. It’s right in the middle of Pennsylvania where you would be more likely to find an Amish restaurant than a Japanese one.
With graduation behind them, they got in their cars and drove across country to the Bay Area. Lin started a master’s program at Stanford and Doug started working in San Francisco. They’ve been five years together before their wedding day.
It seems a special romantic gesture; Doug proposed twice to Lin. One was in Tokyo, the other, in the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park.
They joked that the best part of their wedding was the lavender bouquet and Joseph photographing them. The bouquet was from Fillmore Florist, San Francisco. Joseph, of course, is IQ photo.
