Stinson Beach Proposal

Stinson Beach has a very different vibe compared to San Francisco beaches. It’s wide, open, and stretches for miles, so there’s plenty of space to find a private spot away from the crowds. The setting feels more relaxed and natural than Baker or Ocean Beach — less city energy, more ocean escape.

The catch: it’s about an hour’s drive from San Francisco, and traffic over Mount Tam can be slow on weekends. Also, the fog sometimes rolls in heavy, and the wind can be stronger than you’d expect. But if you’re looking for a proposal spot that feels like a true getaway, quiet, romantic, and framed by the Pacific Ocean, Stinson Beach is one of the best options.
